BuddyBoss was originally a WordPress theme designed to create a clean and organized social site. Boss theme was written to make the BuddyPress plugin frontend prettier. Eventually the theme outgrew BuddyPress\u2019 limitations, so they created their own plugin called the BuddyBoss Platform. The BuddyBoss Platform is like BuddyPress, only with a bunch more features that allow you to customize your forums and profile pictures, extend your profile information, create social groups, upload media, and more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first option you\u2019ll see in BuddyBoss is Components.<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Los componentes le permiten a\u00f1adir funciones adicionales a su sitio web (notificaciones, foros, carga de medios, grupos sociales, etc.). Estos se explican en detalle en el sitio web BuddyBoss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there are two required fields: \u201cMember Profiles\u201d and \u201cProfile Fields\u201d. These two elements will be added to a member\u2019s Account page as it is known to MemberPress. They will \u201ctake over\u201d the account page and look something like this:\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The account page will have new tabs based on what Components you add (for example, Timeline, Groups, Photos and Forums). However, the only required component is Profile. The Membership tab is added by the MemberPress integration add-on. It\u2019s where the MemberPress account info will be displayed and managed by your member(s). Any information collected during membership registration will appear on this page now (for example, Subscriptions and Transaction info).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please be aware that Membership > Info is the information collected from the Membership registration page as it pertains to MemberPress. Any custom or required fields you have a user complete during membership signup will be stored here. BuddyBoss also has its own profile page and fields, but they do not sync with MemberPress\u2019 fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an Administrator, you can view and edit both fields in the WordPress Users page. Once BuddyBoss is installed, you\u2019ll see a new \u201cExtended Profile\u201d tab where you can access any BuddyBoss-related profile information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So that things work best with MemberPress, there are a few import settings you\u2019ll need to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the General Settings, you\u2019ll see an option called Eliminaci\u00f3n de cuentas<\/strong>que permite a los miembros eliminar sus propios perfiles. The other option you\u2019ll need to change is under the Registration section of the same page.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Registration Form has caused some confusion. That\u2019s because you can have users register for just BuddyBoss and not MemberPress if you\u2019d like. However, the\u00a0default URL is the \/register slug for\u00a0both MemberPress and BuddyBoss. There are two solutions to this problem:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Cambia el slug MemberPress en tu MemberPress > Configuraci\u00f3n > pesta\u00f1a P\u00e1ginas y cambia tu \u201cSlug de p\u00e1ginas de membres\u00eda\u201d por algo distinto a \u201cregister\u201d, O BIEN<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. A\u00f1ade la \u201cURL personalizada\u201d tal y como se muestra en la imagen anterior (muchos usuarios prefieren esta opci\u00f3n porque no permite registros de personas que no sean miembros).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you set the Registration Form custom URL to your Membership registration URL or your group page URL, you\u2019ll now see a \u201cSign Up\u201d button on your menu.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Leave the \u201cRestrict site access to only logged-in members\u201d unchecked, or new users will not be able to sign up (you\u2019ll want to leave the restrictions within your MemberPress Rules).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Grupos<\/h1>\n\n\n\n
    Tanto BuddyBoss como MemberPress utilizan la palabra \u201cGrupos\u201d. Sin embargo, esta palabra tiene dos significados diferentes en ambas plataformas.     • A El Grupo MemberPress es un conjunto de afiliaciones<\/strong>. For example, the\u00a0pricing page groups together and displays multiple memberships, and the user can select the one they\u2019d like to purchase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      You also have the option to assign a member to a specified group based on the membership they purchase. To do this, you\u2019ll need to edit the membership you want to assign a group to, and navigate to the \u201cAdvanced Tab\u201d of the membership options. Check the box labeled \u201cBuddyPress Groups for this Membership\u201d, and choose the group you want assigned.<\/div>\n\n\n\n
